NAUGHTY, NAUGHTY, LIFE OF THE PARTY!
The risque world of Ruth Wallis

Clever double-entendres abound in this rowdy yet sophisticated musical cabaret showcasing the music and life of the incredible Ruth Wallis. Curated and performed by Kyrst Hogan with custom backing tracks by her brother Brendan Hogan, the show is a comedic and racy romp celebrating "The Queen of the Party Records". The show includes fun audience interaction, glamorous costumes and props and historical background on "The Saucy Sophisticate", prolific comedic singer and songwriter Ruth Wallis, whose daringly original music was popular on the nightclub and party circuit of the 1950's and 1960's. This show is a fabulous choice for events looking for fun, cheeky "adult" humour that's never vulgar or "revealing"!

About Ruth Wallis
Ruth Wallis was the unrivaled Queen of the Party Records, reeling off a series of bawdy, double-entendre-laced satires that earned a substantial cult following overseas but ran afoul of censors in the singer's native U.S. Wallis’s music tackled subjects that were otherwise verboten in postwar America. In addition to jokes about the male anatomy, recurring themes included the perils of romance, dating and infidelity. Typecast as a risque' singer during the Eisenhower era, her diverse catalogue of music was prohibited from airplay and her records were confiscated by Australian customs during the 60's, merely solidifying her popularity in Australia. In 2007, she was honored by the National Archives of Australia, her memorabilia included in "Memory of a Nation", a permanent exhibition that opened in Canberra. Nonetheless, her career spanned over two decades and four continents. An entrepreneur ahead of her time, when US record companies refused to record her “racy” material, she simply started her own label. Of course, by today's standards, Wallis' lyrics are quite tame, but her witty rhymes and themes still evoke the same chortles and giggles as they did when they were first released.
